Your rent should be considered a priority within your monthly budget, but if you do fall into arrears with your landlord, you could be at risk of eviction if you do not act.

If you fall into rent arrears then you should try to clear these as soon as possible. Even if that is at the expense of other lower priority debts.

Remember that if you move away from the property you owe rent on, then your landlord will still be able to take action against you to recover these funds.

It is possible to have rent arrears written with an IVA, however this shouldn’t be taken lightly as any future landlord will be able to check this.
